Received a letter to book an appointment for an eye check. Cannot get in touch by phone or via their website. Don’t know how to download QR code . How many elderly are in the same situation as me.

My gran came in for surgery today and was really nervous. So much so she almost cancelled. When we arrived today, she was met by a man called stewart. He could tell instantly that she was extremely nervous and immediately put her at ease with his calming manner. While in the room, my gran was still a bit nervous but on leaving the room she asked him for a hug to calm her nerves and he did it without hesitation. He even put his big arm around her and walked her into the next waiting area. He was so kind. When she got discharged she was waiting in the main waiting area and he took time out to sit with her and have a little chat to make sure she was OK. He is a credit to CHEC. leave this review so he could get recognition for being truly amazing. My gran thinks if there were more people like him the world would be a better place. He has left a mark on my gran who is so grateful for his kindness. Please pass on this praise. He is a wonderful member of staff and a wonderful human being.

What an amazing experience! I can’t rate this facility highly enough. From the nurses, receptionists, consultants to Howard the gentleman who meets and greets. Top class and I am confident I am in good hands for my cataract surgery next week. I’ve no idea how it is so efficient but it is and I’m grateful.

Newmedica Eye Health Clinic & Surgical Centre - Gloucester Aspen
The medical, administrative and resource-based rating for my review is known to the clinic. I hope that Newmedica (Gloucester and Head Office) will act on the information provided to save others with complex eye conditions from potential trauma. The stress and expense (met by the patient) of ongoing remedial treatment elsewhere to address poor outcomes could be prevented by Newmedica referring more complex patients to specialist clinics. If, however, Newmedica (Gloucester) decides to to treat another complex eye rather than refer the patient elsewhere, I hope the consultant I saw will counsel patients about the specific risks to their vision that certain premium lenses present - especially when the patient is referred for NHS treatment with a standard NHS lens and expected this - but is instead advised (inappropriately) that they need a premium lens.No patient should ever be told by a consultant (months after surgery) that he had ‘taken a risk’ with putting a particular type of premium lens in a patient’s eye - without ever having thought to advise the patient he was taking such risk(s) beforehand. Patients need to be fully informed of specific risks their eye(s) may face via a prescribed premium lens to prepare them for unexpected outcomes.. Not to do so creates significant stress and uncertainty for the patient in the event of post-op reduced visual acuity..Patients also need factual and honest reporting in their records when previous vision is a long way from being restored by cataract surgery. An investigation and appropriate scans to try to identify the problem should be standard practice. The necessary scans were not available at the Newmedica Gloucester clinic - and the standard pre-op ones were operated by an unsupervised trainee in my case.Thankfully my second cataract occurred outside the pandemic and I am able to receive treatment in an NHS eye hospital that is suitably and extensively resourced for my eye condition. I will not be trusting private eye clinics again after undeclared conflicts of interest in my referrals hindered my opportunities for appropriate eye care both pre-operatively and post-operatively.

Optegra - Laser Eye Surgery & Cataract Surgery London
4 years ago, I came for a laser eye surgery consultation and then bottled - 12 months ago I made the decision to get it done, getting the procedure completed 3 months later. All the staff are very professional, diligent and not pushy, they answer questions and are really open. I couldn’t be happier with my vision - I would recommend Optegra to my nearest and dearest. Very satisfied

The Stoneygate Eye Hospital
Considering I have a phobia about knives and Eyes, it was a pleasure to have had double lens replacements at the Stoneygate Eye Hospital.Pre-op communication was efficient clear, simple and straight forward, nothing left unclear or omitted. 10/10You gain the first impression at reception. The staff are superb, extremely friendly and well trained 10/10Pre-op testing was detailed and very professional, everything explained so you know what is going on and why. 10/10Discussions and advice given by the consultant was exceptional, Explaining why a particular lens type was a risk and it would be a waste of my money as well as elevating the risk. 10/10Oh and.the nurses 10/10On the day!Cannot fault the whole experience and care. I opted for the support of anaesthesia of the eye, which if you have a phobia about knives and eyes is well worth the money, as the eye vision is lost during the procedure. 10/10I am a wheelchair user and have limited mobility, the operating room staff, and the Consultant particularly, helped me on to the table.10/10Overall the experience was wonderful, could not rate the Hospital, staff and consultant, high enough.Thank you so much for a superb experience. Honestly, if I could give more than 10/10 I would.

The Stoneygate Eye Hospital
The clinic is organised, clean and efficient. All my appointments were on time and the aftercare is excellent.Mr Mokashi was both kind and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions carefully and gave me reassurance and realistic expectations. I was extremely impressed with how theatre protocols were rigorously followed. I’ve had an excellent outcome and felt thoroughly cared for at every stage.

SpaMedica
Wish Ide Never Heard of Spa Medica, and would not recommend them to anybody.Had a cataract removed in October 2022,from my left eye. Its now March 2023. Had nothing but problems since then, now they say I need laser eye surgery on this eye. There not ripping the NHS off and screwing up my right eye, just another company in it for the money. They can remove the lens they've done and keep it. Ide rather have gone blind. 0 stars
