Restaurant and food cold, thought it was a one off the first time as I only had a sausage bap, but the full English came out cold on 2nd visit.. disappointing when you pay for hot food you expect it hot or at least warm

This is a great cafe, easy to get to, lots of parking, disabled friendly facilities, all on one level, baby changing facilities too.The meals are well priced, taste good and mostly brought to you in good time. The menu isn't huge but it does cater for most tastes. You can have hot or cold food and drinks, and the same goes for deserts.Staff are mostly happy, Friendly and helpful (only ever met one that wasn't).The seating area is fairly large, different types of seating and tables, so it's ideal whether you are popping in for a meal or just a quick coffee. They work hard to keep it clean and tidy, and are always clearing things up.The four stars instead of five are for two simpley solved reasons.1. They don't always have the condiments area stocked, which is puzzling considering how much attention they give to the place.2. They have staff and store announcements almost constantly blurting out, none of which are relevant for the cafe area. When I mentioned this their excuse was that it can't be helped because they installed the speakers in there and they have no control over which areas of the store announcements are made.So every part of the store hears them, from the front to back in store rooms etc...Very old fashioned approach.Other than these two niggles, it's a great cafe and ideal for a quality low priced meal.

No stars from me!! But appears you have to put at least 1 star to post a review!! What is the point of this??Absolutely terrible service from start to finish.I initially ordered through just eat.Half my items were missing.Which is surely not up to the delivery driver to check as hes packing the meals up.That lies with the cafe staff to give all that was orderd on line. The just eat delivery man dropped my food and left me to pick it up because he was afraid of a cat that was near my front door.He was so rude .So not only half my order was missing I literally had it thrown at me.Shall not be ordering again.Absolute sham

They serve lovely dishes. The penne al pesto is very delicious and the cajun chicken is just awesome… butterfly chicken with creamy mushroom sauce is another lovely dish. A lovely cafe for some delicious food. Has never disappointed.

If a lower score I could give, I would. An infuriating complete waste of my money and time. The meal totalled roughly £9, I was asied to wait 15 minutes, the preperation took over 40 minutes.Once the food arrived, it was missing cutlery, I was smiled at by the member of staff on the register before being told to give her a moment, I granted her request, that moment she needed was over 20 minutes.Past the 20 minutes I revisited the counter several times leaving my now stone cold overpriced food unattended, finally, another member of staff handed me a disposable wooden knife and fork, which the first retorted at, claiming she only just put some cutlery in the wash and it would be done in a minute. In conclusion:The food itself was overpriced, the batter was par-cooked, the interior being damp and the exterior crispy and oily, it was cold on arrival but ice cold by the time I was able to eat. There was roughly 30 chips, for £8 I would expect more or atleast a dip - even McDonalds gives more for the price. The atmosphere was not very pleasant, due to the shoppers constantly walking past; not a big deal if you have headphones as I did though.£2 for a coke is highway robbery as only 2 steps away in the same store the same drink is £1, again, overpriced.Customer service is terrible, and the kitchen/front of house staff is uncoordinated with poor communication.I did not feel welcome here at all, and the few other customers, of which there were not many, were also facing issues with their orders. Not long after eating, I felt physically sick so made my way to the rest room to throw up.Very very very dissapointed and if I wasn't so dissapointed and feeling physically sick from this food I would have requested a refund. The only reason for 2 stars was that the fish was flaky. All tables were dirty.Oh, also the peas were not mushy, even though it clearly says mushy peas.

What's happening morrisons, great hard Working staff, but your food is not so good, chips are very dry and food needs to be hotter. Use to be first class. You cannot up the price and down grade the quality of the food. More staff is needed perhaps and pleased don't use ready meal quality food. Shame as use to love eating there.

If you get the breakfast be prepared to be underwhelmed. The sausage were that cremated that they looked like a pile of dog mess that has been sitting in your garden in the sun for at least a week. Bacon was anaemic, egg was under and jelly like. Tomato was barely cooked. When I told them they absolutely incinerated the sausage they told me they have to be served overcooked for safety? They then returned with another set of completely cremated sausages.

Mountfitchet Castle & Norman Village
Parking is free on Sunday and Holidays ( check picture with prices and park on the bottom with sign for long stay ). Brilliant for spending family day out, especially with a lot of friendly animals around you there ( when you buy tickets, buy the food there too, so you can feed them). A lot of history and reconstruction so interesting and for everyone something there, including toy House museum next to the village and dinosaur Park ( kids just loved it). Maybe it looks that all those can't work together, but for kids, that is a brilliant idea to mix all together. At the end, you can have your family picking and relax, but you can buy food and drinks there too If you didn't brought your own. Recommended and enjoy your day!
